Sally Robinson was born in London. At the age of ten she won a junior exhibition to the Royal College of Music to study the violin with Pauline Scott, then went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music.
As a freelance violinist Sally has worked with English National Ballet, the Northern Philharmonic Orchestra, Manchester Concert Orchestra, Carl Rosa and others. An experienced teacher, Sally has a busy private practise and is an Associate Fellow at Bradford University. Leader of the National Festival Orchestra, the Yorkshire Chamber Ensemble and the Lydian Quartet.
Sally lives near Bingley and plays and Italian violin made in 1760 by Angelo Molia.
